Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP or “Hard”) Contact Lenses
Features & Benefits: RGP's offer the patient a durable contact lens that can be made in most prescriptions. Patients with or without astigmatism can wear RGP's successfully. Clear, sharp vision is another benefit experienced by patients who wear RGP's.

Wear Schedule: RGP's follow a conventional wear schedule. They should be worn only during the waking hours of the day and must be removed at night. The life of the lenses depends on the care with which they are handled and cleaned.

Cleaning & Disinfecting: These lenses must be cleaned, rinsed and disinfected every night and rinsed again every morning. They also must be cleaned using a special enzyme solution on a weekly basis.
